A 37-year-old man named Antoine Rainey was arrested after he assaulted a woman when she was filling gas at a station on 500 Rosecrans Avenue. Law enforcement caught the suspect in Los Angeles’s Long Beach city during the weekend. The law enforcement officials said that Rainey is an individual with schizophrenia, one of the many mental disorders.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to that attack-related call on the penultimate day of May 2021, and they termed it vicious. They have looked at surveillance footage before coming up with that term to describe the attack.

The video allegedly showed the man parking before the women, then approaching and hitting the latter to the time bystanders came over. After that, the man returned to his vehicle and just drove away. As per the Department’s special bulletin, the man was driving an older model of Ford Expedition with black rims and black paint.

The officials also stated that he was released on parole when the incident happened and that there might have been other people involved.

The woman involved in the incident was hospitalized following her black eye and head trauma, but she was discharged later.
